Services
Three engagements. Each with a clear scope.
Amanah offers three distinct services covering the practical needs most families face when dealing with an inheritance matter in Malaysia. Each is described in full below, with the process and fee outlined plainly.

How each engagement begins.
Initial Conversation
We listen to your situation and confirm whether the matter falls within one of our three service areas. This conversation carries no charge and no obligation.
Written Engagement Letter
If we proceed, we issue an engagement letter setting out the scope, the fee, and the expected timeline. Nothing begins until this is agreed and signed.
Lawyer-Handled Work
The named lawyer manages the engagement from start to finish. Updates are provided in writing at each material stage. Disbursements are reported as incurred.
Service 01
Trust Drafting & Settlement
From RM 2,005
A considered engagement to set up a family trust under Malaysian law, with care for the client's intentions and the practical needs of the chosen trustees. The lawyer drafts the trust deed, advises on the choice of trustees, and prepares the supporting resolutions. The aim is a clear, workable instrument the family can rely on for years to come.
What is included:
- Initial consultation to understand intentions and family structure
- Advice on trustee selection and their legal obligations
- Preparation of the trust deed to Malaysian Trustees Act 1949 requirements
- Drafting of trustee appointment resolutions and ancillary letters
- One review meeting after the draft is circulated
- Final executed copies issued to client and trustee(s)
Process steps:
Fact-gathering meeting — intentions, assets, family structure
Trustee advisory session — selection, duties, practical considerations
Trust deed drafted and circulated for review
Review meeting — amendments noted and incorporated
Execution and delivery of final instrument
Service 02
Inheritance Dispute Counsel
From RM 1,920
A measured engagement for clients caught in a dispute over an estate — whether the dispute concerns the validity of a will, the conduct of an administrator, or the distribution of particular assets. The lawyer presents the realistic outcomes candidly, offers a clear cost outline, and prefers to explore settlement avenues before any escalation.
What is included:
- Initial review of the facts and available documents
- Candid assessment of realistic outcomes (not just the best case)
- Written cost outline before the engagement proceeds
- Negotiation and settlement correspondence as a first step
- Representation in formal proceedings if settlement is not achievable
- Written updates at each material development
Process steps:
Document and fact review — wills, letters of administration, correspondence
Outcome and cost assessment delivered in writing
Negotiation and settlement correspondence issued
If no settlement: formal proceedings commenced with your agreement
Resolution and matter closure — outcome documented
Service 03
Beneficiary Letter Drafting
From RM 590
A short drafting engagement for clients who need a careful letter to a beneficiary — a notice of distribution, a request for cooperation, or a response to a query. The lawyer prepares the letter so it advances the matter without provoking unnecessary conflict.
What is included:
- Initial briefing to understand the context and purpose
- Review of any relevant will provisions or distribution documents
- Drafting of the letter — clear, firm, and appropriately measured
- One revision after client review
- Delivery within 5 working days of receiving full instructions
Process steps:
Briefing call — purpose, recipient, background documents
Draft letter prepared and sent for client review
Revision incorporated (one revision included)
Final letter delivered — ready to send
